San Augustine County
When gauged on a 9/64-inch choke, the USA-BL Well No. 1 potentialed 2.127 million cubic feet of gas. This well was completed by St. Mary Land & Exploration Co. to a depth of 13,535 feet in the Huxley Field. This well is located 4.5 miles north of San Augustine. Production is in the 6100 formation.
Is this the results from the vertical Haynesville test or is it actually a production test from the Huxley? If it is a vertical Haynesville test....it seems pretty good to me. Also, what about the small choke, is it possible without the pressure to extrapolate any of the reported results? What do you all think?

That a H James lime well with total depth includes H leg to 13,535'
adubu, that's what I would conclude... at first glance. But there is no permit for a horizontal profile posted.
That was my question, they permitted as both a vertical and a horizontal and then specifically amended to vertical only. No other amended permits were filed. Can they go from vertical to horizontal and then file an an amended "as drilled" permit after the fact?
Alongview, it is probably all about the dollars. They can drill a vertical now cheaper; produce it and recoup some of their cost, see what they have and then when the price goes up, go back in and repermit it and drill the horizonal.
Here's how to calculate:

choke coefficient X FTP + 15# =volume in mcfd. In this case a 9/64th choke has a coefficient of .444

You can do the math.

Get a choke coefficient chart, and you wil be able to calculate the volume, or in this case the backcalculation for FTP, for any well.
definitely a James Lime well classified in Huxley (6100) Field=James Lime
