Our previous lease just expired and option was not taken.  Is there a waiting period before records show it is now available and do we wait to be contacted or attempt to contact for ourselves?  There are over 10 wells drilled within approx 5 mi radius of our land on Hwy 147 7 mi south of S'ville so we were stumped as to why option not exercised since bonus was minimal.  Now what?

Yevonne--- what Survey and # are your minerals in???
T H Lester survey abst 434 - sorry about delay in responding, been out of town..
Yevonne-- just be patience there are small margin James Lime well continguous to you and they will not drill these in your abstract survey which is ok. However XTO has several wells ( Shale H test)recently premitted within 2 miles of you 360 degrees around your survey in and if these are good wells they will be calling or knocking on your door if wells are excellent you can get good terms on release. Hunt was purchased by XTO and XTO purchased by XOM and will continue to operate under XTO division. The good new about XOM purchasing XTO is now XTO has BIG BIG budget and money to to drill with. How many net acres do you have?
28 acres, 50%, which is 14 net I think. We aren't going anywhere, so patience is now my middle name. other neighbors are in same situation, so I will spread the word. Thanks so much for info. Lil ole first grade teacher was also in dark, so maybe she will read this.
Yevonne--if these are good wells and you can get good terms and 25% royalty with good wells drilled in a unit 14 acres net will make some good mail box income. Your money's in the ground so good terms and 25% royalty more important than big bonus. You can afford few hundred dollars to have lease reviewed by good oil & gas attorney-- you can not afford not to have it reveiwed IMO--- good luck in future and hope XTO wells are good and you get leased and make a good well and NG prices go up by that time.
