Shale play in NE Shelby around Joaquin will be defined soon (NEWS 12/7/2010)

GoodRich Petroleum spud the R Dean Hay Gas Unit #1H 06/08/2010 a shale test about 2 miles west of Joaquin. The well is in the Pennington and Tuton Surveys N of State Hwy 7 and S of Hwy US 84. Any one who lives in area please keep eyes and ear open and post any thing you hear. The CHK well Harvey #1H to south and EOG Walker #1H to WSW where not good wells. Hope this well is good to maintain value of minerals and chance for all in area with deep minerals to get drilled and placed in a unit.

adubu,
What is the approximate distance between the Dean Hay Gas Unit #1H and the two other wells you mentioned, the Harvey #1H and EOG Walker #1H? Jim C
jim--- if you will go to the rrc texas web site and click on the GIS map viewer and Zoom in on this area of Shelby County you can locate and see these wells. I estimate the R dean hay is about 6 miles north of the Harvey #1H which is in the Henry Ashabrannon Survey and about 8 miles NNE of the Walker well. but go look at the map on the rrc site and can see it better than I can tell you in words.
adubu, thanks for the rrc info. jim
jim-- you live aroung this area or have minerals leased ?
shelby co land, scattered. most leased. interesting pipeline activity. any words
of wisdom re: values/rod for pipeline easements and other points of negotiations. thanks for your interest. jim
Forest Oil & Gas just put in this interesting application today for this area:

W-1 Info:

May Unit Well #2H
JE Haley Survey (A-284)
3 miles West of Joaquin / Right along US 84 and the Panola Co. border.

Horizontal to be completed in the HA

First drilling a Wildcat vertical, however, as an "exploratory" test well.
Hope they see something good and go ahead with the H leg.
My Mom and family have mineral rights that were leased in June '08/ We can not get any info on what is going on with the property. It is the PW Harvery survey. Please someone can u answer some questions for us.
Laurie--what's abs # of PW Harvey survey? Who they leased with? I can look up activity then for you
They are leased with Chesapeake. When u say abs # is that 310 and 311. If you need any more info plz let me know. Thanks for all your help. We live in Louisiana and its kinda of hard for us to keep up with this. Again thanks
Laurie, I have friends who live in that area and nothing appears to be happening in that survey now. Last fall a seismic survey was done along FM 139 which crosses through the PW Harvey and there was talk that a well would be drilled but nothing has been permitted on TRRS. However, Chesapeake has 2 permits for wells about 3 miles north of you but it does not include your survey and has not been drilled yet. That is the closest well permitted to PW Harvey to date. Hope that helps you!
Thanks very much. Appreciate all the info I can get
