CGG Veritas and Kingfisher Exploration will be holding an open meeting @ 6:00 Tuesday, June 26th at the Spearsville City Hall to discuss and answer questions re: the upcoming 2D seismic survey lines in Union Parish. I want to go as I will be in the area that day. What are good questions to ask?

I live in Phoenix and cannot attend. My family signed with Kingfisher for seismic testing on our property in the BML unit. I rarely check GHS Union Parish info because the main LSBD has the most information. Have you posed the question to them?

Permalink Reply by Sarah Randolph on July 9, 2012 at 17:43 Yes and no. There were two SWN reps from Houston there as well as reps from the companies that will be doing the seismic work. Also had someone from from the Dept. of Wildlife and Fisheries who spoke. There were maps placed on the table that showed the detail of where they would be doing the survey work for the seismigraph testing. As best I could tell still testing in the general area they are currently drilling--BML, Johnson and Dean. Not going up as far as the Bayou De Loutre field yet. If anyone out there can add to this, pls. jump in as I am not good with their maps.
Permalink Reply by B Kenner on July 10, 2012 at 5:18 I signed for the seismic also, and have only general land owner gossip. I do know they are getting ready to drill the Dole well when they leave the Johnson. One of the landowners in the BML section has been approached about a pipeline ROW. I wish I could hear a truthful report on the BML.
Permalink Reply by Sarah Randolph on July 10, 2012 at 5:40 To clarify my comment earlier, I meant that the survey work mentioned above seems to be in the general area of interest for the BML, Johnson and Dean. BML and Johnson have been drilled (I don't know what the rig is doing now, though still at the Johnson site, at least as of yesterday) and I know a second rig was recently brought in to the Dean site. I heard too that DeSoto 20 rig moving to Dole well site after Johnson. In addition, seems to be a lot of interest in the Lillie area and around Spearsville. I don't know if that interest is from earlier seismic work or if more testing still to come. I heard about the pipeline too.
Permalink Reply by North LA on July 10, 2012 at 5:44 My land is just NW of Lillie. I've received a unit letter for a neighboring section but haven't heard anything for my section. Info is tight but that's ok. It's good to see 2 rigs move into the area.
Also, Dean well was spud today

AboutAs exciting as this is, we know that we have a responsibility to do this thing correctly. After all, we want the farm to remain a place where the family can gather for another 80 years and beyond. This site was born out of these desires. Before we started this site, googling "shale' brought up little information. Certainly nothing that was useful as we negotiated a lease. Read More |
