AboutAs exciting as this is, we know that we have a responsibility to do this thing correctly. After all, we want the farm to remain a place where the family can gather for another 80 years and beyond. This site was born out of these desires. Before we started this site, googling "shale' brought up little information. Certainly nothing that was useful as we negotiated a lease. Read More |

Just got back from La. I got to visit Southern Stars Atkinson well last week. They were cutting cores and I got look at them. They looked good to me, but I am not a shale geologist. It will be interesting to see results of lab tests.
I will answer your questions as I understand it. MMCF is a measure of volume of gas. MMCFE is a measurement which converts oil to its equivalency of natural gas based upon energy produced by that oil.
166 barrels of oil would be about equal to 1 MMCF of gas. This is an approximation as all gas may vary in Btu's produced. I believe all natural gas is sold based upon Btu's actually produced. Don't quote me. I need to research a bit on this.
Yes, I would lke to go to breakfast on 24th. Just name the time and placBest regards,

As you can guess, I was somewhat excited about the Atkins-Lincoln well. They are now drilling vertical Haynesville test well. The other well you mentioned was permitted as Gray Sand well. It apears that after having to sidetrack and drill to Gray sd. You were right about Haynesville. It should be around 10,000 ft., +/-.
Give me call when convenient to you.

It's good to hear from you. I'm not sure whether my property is in the HS play or not. Time will tell. Take care.

What was your lease offer in the 19n 12w area? I am not going to sign mine unless it is modified to be considerably more landowner friendly. It appears the lessee has more rights than the lessor.
