Shale drilling and lithium extraction are seemingly distinct activities, but there is a growing connection between the two as the world moves towards cleaner energy solutions. While shale drilling primarily targets…

AboutAs exciting as this is, we know that we have a responsibility to do this thing correctly. After all, we want the farm to remain a place where the family can gather for another 80 years and beyond. This site was born out of these desires. Before we started this site, googling "shale' brought up little information. Certainly nothing that was useful as we negotiated a lease. Read More |

You are so right. God is Sovreign and certainly is in control. Thankfully He loves us!
Yes, the RR commission is where to find info on what wells are producing. I think you can find out how much has been produced as well there. Also just keep reading here. You are taking positive steps just by reading as many posts as you can.
I am far away too. I wish I could be in the community and get to know these kind hearted folks on the boards.
I live in Missouri now (as of last October), after being a Texan all my life. It's wierd living in a different place!
I am sorry to hear you were displaced by Katrina. Hopefully Gustav didn't cause you any grief. I would love to vacation in eastern Tennesse sometime. It's been years since I've been there.
Wow, even a HUNDRED copies from 1880 run thru your computer is enough to make it pant. :) And how neat that you have those old documents. The people who made the originals back in 1800's could not concieve of the technology we have today! But wouldn't it have been fun to get everywhere by horse or walking or rail? No cement jungles and exaust. I am from Houston Texas, I know all about that.
This is all pretty exciting though isn't it? I wish you the best and hope we can stay in touch!
Blessings,
Sarah
Our group is largely comprised of mineral qwners in south Rusk County in the general area around Mt Enterprise. We all would be glad to have you in our "group". Basically, we are holding meetings at the Community Center in Mt E on about a weekly or bi-weekly schedule. Scheduling is quite impromptu. If we have a Land Man (or Lady) that wishes to meet with us a call goes out --kind of word of mouth. Petrohawk has offered $3000 and 25%; Encore Acquisitions has offered $3,500 and 25%. We are still negotiating and feel we are in close proximity to the thickest Haynesville sections yet encountered (500 feet plus at Trawick just over the Rusk-Nacogdoches County line.
I know you will find answers here if you have time to read. I don't. lol. I do, but I homeschool and have a one year old always turning off the computer. It gets a bit exasperating. :) I'm sure I will find out what the heck I'm doing too, sooner or later. Don't give up and don't rush in to anything is my only advice. There are a lot of generous kind people willing to help you out if/when you have questions.
I would like to become part of this East Texas group, if you will have me.. Thanks and have a great day... Any help or suggestions, will be accepted with open arms....
Thanks....... Shelley
