Does anybody know anything going on in Section 30, Township 11 in DeSoto parish? My grandmother owns 100 acres there.

Ellen,
I am in township just west of you and have been approached by Petrohawk and Chesapeake oil&gas companies. I believe Comstock has a well just North of us, and Petrohawk is drilling test wells in the area. This area seems to be waiting on the results of test wells in the area to confirm its' value, but, I believe we are in a good area as far as the Haynesville Shale goes.

Tuscaloosa Trend Sits On Top Of Poorest Neighbourhood For Decades - Yet No Royalties Ever Paid To The Community -- Why??

In researching the decades-old Tuscaloosa Trend and the immense wealth it has generated for many, I find it deeply troubling that this resource-rich formation runs directly beneath one of the poorest communities in North Baton Rouge—near Southern University, Louisiana—yet neither the university ( that I am aware of)  nor local residents appear to have received any compensation for the minerals extracted from their land.
