Shalers,

It’s fun being on the back end of this site and observing your activity. I posted a discussion today listing the top ten groups in terms of how busy they are. I think there are some surprises in the list. See the list here http://www.gohaynesvilleshale.com/forum/topics/busiest-groups-on-the-site

I have been trying to add some tools to maximize the site’s usefulness. I have added a box, front and center and just below the main picture, which lists the categories of discussions. Just click one of these and it will take you to all the discussions which fall under the topic. Also in the box is a search box. Just type the term/phrase into the box and click on it. This will bring up the discussions/content that use the term. Good luck.

THIS WEEKEND’S FEATURED DISCUSSIONS:

1. “Current Leasing Offers”

2. “Proposed oil and gas laws may be ready soon”

3. “Unleased Owner Problems”

In researching the decades-old Tuscaloosa Trend and the immense wealth it has generated for many, I find it deeply troubling that this resource-rich formation runs directly beneath one of the poorest communities in North Baton Rouge—near Southern University, Louisiana—yet neither the university ( that I am aware of)  nor local residents appear to have received any compensation for the minerals extracted from their land.

This area has suffered immense environmental degradation…
