GHS Member,
We've been at work on GHS laying out a new design that will make the user experience better. We took into consideration how GHS is used and what we need to maximize the strengths of the site. I have started a discussion to discuss the changes, feel free to chime in...
There a couple things we want to give you a heads up on the new quick navigation and the chat function that we have added to the site.
Take a moment to get familiar with the new GHS!
QUICK NAV
Below the new search area is the quick-nav bar. Based on the features that you told us you prioritize, we have included the "Forum," "Groups," "Top" and "Latest." You simply click on the feature and it appears in the designated window. You do not change web pages.
Here's brief description and photo of each.
Forum: Same functionality as prior to the redesign. The most recently active post (latest reply) gets brought to the top.
Groups: This window will display the top 20 groups with the most recently active starting left to right from the top. Simply click on the group you wish to view.
Top: This window displays reflects the top 20 most active members for the previous 30 days.
Latest: This window provides a snapshot of ALL site activity. You can also type a status or begin a forum, blog, photo or video post from this window.
CHAT FUNCTION
Not familiar with the chat function? Here's a quick summary.
Hope that gave you a helpful summary of some key changes on GHS. We will continue to monitor them to make sure that these changes result in the kind of user experience that can make a difference in your information search and networking.
best,
Keith

AboutAs exciting as this is, we know that we have a responsibility to do this thing correctly. After all, we want the farm to remain a place where the family can gather for another 80 years and beyond. This site was born out of these desires. Before we started this site, googling "shale' brought up little information. Certainly nothing that was useful as we negotiated a lease. Read More |
