To find out what section this well is in you can go to the state website. Which is WWW.DNR.LOUISIANA.GOV. When it loads all the way up, click on the icon for Sonris Lite. Then on the menu on the left side of the website, click on Sonris. Then you have the option to look this up by the name of the Well by Field ID. If you have any paperwork that tells you what the name of the field is. Then when you get the field no. example(6688) Metcalf field. It will show you all wells included in that field. The township, range and section will show up when you click on any well and open that information up. If you type in the first few letters of your field if you know the name. Or you can look all wells up by Organization ID-which is the name of the drilling energy company like Chesepeake, Fossil, Petro Hawk, Cypress. Then once you know that all wells by parish can be looked up by these companies. Just play with the website and you will get the hang of it. It also includes education information by giving you a list of codes under that section to help you understand the status of a well.
