Richard Newell, Administrator at the Energy Information Administration, gives quantifying research that details large increases in shale gas reserves. He foresees the electric power sector benefiting the most from this increase; and thinks renewables could benefit as well, working in conjunction with a combined cycle gas turbine plant. The EIA is finding that renewable energy is the fastest growing part of the overall energy sector.
