Does an oil/gas co. have a responsibility to develop/pump once they have tied up our land? I am referring to the fact that the well has been drilled, gas found, and pumped, but almost completely turned off, I assume because of low prices. What recourse do we have when that happens? We are stuck with no checks and no way to seek out another contract.

I didn't say it was turned off, just almost. Mr. Coats used to read the meter everyday, but now they have fixed it so he can't read it anymore as soon as he started asking too many questions. I am the next door neighbor and just posting the questions for him because he doesn't want to post them himself. We haven't been paid for 2 months because they told us they overpaid us, but I have been pestering them and all of a sudden we get a check this month, but it is way lower than the previous checks.
EOG said on their conf call that they are choking back wells due to low gas prices, waiting to flow them when the market rebounds....
Considering the very low price of gas these past few months, they were doing you a favor by restricting the flow and not selling your gas at depressed rates.
