I started a thread asking about any Chesapeake Bossier interest in east/northeast Nac. county.  No responses so far.  Maybe a better question would be to what extent there is any testing/pushing of the "core" limits on the western part of either of the Texas shales.

A number of the core maps do not show the Haynesville going as far west as the Bossier which is also interesting, given the Cabot vertical HS tests in the Trawick field that had decent vertical results (3 mmcf/d IP) but then were shutin.  Did anyone come across information about the shale quality of those wells?

What are the westernmost shale wells in Nacodoches county now?  Do I remember correctly that there is some shale activity in the Angelina Trend?

Angelina Trend--recent Goodrich presentation said they added acreage and had Haynesville drilling plans--have not yet seen any permits by Goodrich or Encana or other lease holders here. A few deep tests were permitted in Angelina by Encana--to 20,000' but not drilled when gas prices dropped.
As far as I can see, the Goodrich-Tucker #1, Lewis #1 and Hill #1 are the farthest west producing wells (all vertical) except for the ones belonging to Cabot/XOM near Rusk Co. which are all reporting in the Trawick (Jurassic). See Trawick GU 1 #101, Tra. GU 16 #101, Tra. GU 3 #101, Tra. GU 29 #101.

If you want to go back in time, look at Trawick GU 5 #4 (1982).
any info out on the Mora 827 survey deep wells--off Baker Hughes
Sonerra and Petrohawk?
I haven't heard anything on either Standing Pine #1 or Petroleum Creek #1H yet but it may be way too early to expect anything.
EOG has Wallace #1H just permitted in Mora and the Crane Et Al #1H in Chireno. Maybe we can get j garrett to do a "drive by" and see if the pads are built or what:-).
jffree1, I had thought that the Cabot/XOM vertical HS wells were all shut-in but I see from the records that #1 101 has been plugging along, starting at around 1.6 mmcf/d and just dropping under 1 mmcf/d in Nov. in its 10 month of production. Also I noticed that Cabot filed for an 2 yr. extension of confidentiality for this well's logs in March 2009. Anyone care to speculate about that?
IP on that well was 2.889 MMcfd on 18/64 choke. The Trawick GU 5 #4 (347-30655) IP'd in 1982 @ 4.580 MMcfd, 13/64, and the notes say it was a Bossier test. It was plugged back to the Travis Peak Consolidate field in 1989 and may still be producing (I haven't looked).

That 2 yr. extension is SOP. They all do it.
"farthest west" is exactly how far west in Nacogdoches County? I'm sure there's a map somewhere but ???
Try these:

Thanks jffree. That's west enough to keep me smiling. :)
THANKS JFFREEL FOR MAPS
EOG Resources assignment to Petrohawk 1/12/00 of Acres in DEEP JV with Sonnerra Resources/Pinnacle Energy Group, LLC;
So leasing by all of these parties tied to a very large AMI in Nacogdoches. Petrohawk Petroleum Creek #1H "wildcat" in Mora 827 drops off Baker Hughes as did the vertical deep well Sonerra Resources Standing Pine #1 and then EOG new permitted Wallace #1H in Mora 827-Carthage (Haynesville). Submitted 02/16/2010 Approved 02/18/2010 (includes Petrohawk). Petrohawk 4th qtr quiet about Nacogdoches JV wells.

This would suggest that Petrohawk and EOG liked what they saw in the Petroleum Creek #1H and the Sonerra Resources Standing Pine #1 vertical well .
Cabot said this morning that there is a wait for pumping crews and equipment to get the wells fracked. They had hoped to announce their first operated Haynesville well but the frack is not scheduled until "last week of Feb. or first week of March".
