Cabot Oil & Gas Provides Operations Update Current Marcellus Production Over 100 Mmcf per Day!
HOUSTON, Feb. 21 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Cabot Oil & Gas Corporation (NYSE: COG) today announced continued success in all of its initiatives. "We have spent much of the last three-plus months with our heads down, focused on moving our Marcellus and East Texas operations forward," said Dan O. Dinges, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer. "The results highlighted below are a culmination of that effort."

East Texas

Operationally, since the last call, the East Texas region has successfully completed three Pettet horizontal oil wells, two James Lime gas wells and a horizontal Cotton Valley Taylor sand well, while drilling and casing the first Company operated horizontal Haynesville shale well.

The Pettet oil wells produced consistent results with average IP rates from the three wells of 714 Bbls of oil (with one well testing 947 Bopd) and 1,900 Mmcf of gas per day. Currently the 2010 plan has eleven Pettet wells in the mix, with one flowing back, two wells to complete, two drilling and four wells to be drilled.

The Cotton Valley Taylor Sand horizontal confirmation well was a success with IP of 8.9 Mmcf per day and a 30-day production rate of 5.9 Mmcf per day. This 94 percent working interest well has an estimated ultimate recovery of over 6 Bcfe. The Company is currently drilling its third well in this play.

In St. Augustine County, the Company has drilled and cased its first operated horizontal Haynesville shale well. "We expected to have this well completed in early January, but the combination of a significant inventory of 2009 deferred completions for the industry, coupled with fewer high pressure pumping crews, has created a back-log in this completion space," commented Dinges. "Right now this well is in the queue for late February or early March."

Will you really smart statistics guys chart the Haynesville Texas oil wells as to formations and counties??
Thanks
"Haynesville Texas oil wells"

I don't think there are any at this time, CL.
ok... Oil wells in Shelby, San Augustine and Sabine counties, in the geographical area of the Haynesville Shale, but in any formation including the initial production??? Or we can concentrate on San Augustine and Sabine???
Too many to start posting on this page.

http://webapps.rrc.state.tx.us/DP/initializePublicQueryAction.do is a good place to start looking, though.

Choose the county you want to look at, Well Type=OIL & Completion Status= Final Completion. That should give you every well (back to at least the early 80's) completed as an OIL well in that county.
Thanks jffree!!!
Adubu and Jffree1
Do either of you know where the map is located showing Cabot's "Pettit Fairway". Alongview mentions this area on the Shelby County site.
Thanks

In our East Texas operating areas, we had an excellent result, posting production growth of 10% to 34.9 Bcfe, with reserves of approximately 330 Bcfe at year-end. In 2009, we invested approximately $167 million and participated in 46 wells in East Texas, of which 33 were successful and 13 were in progress at the end of the year, resulting in a 100% success rate.

We continue to have good success in our James Lime carbonate play. And through December 31, 2009, we have participated in a total of 77 horizontal wells. Of those, 43 were operated by us and placed on production on average growth initial rate of 9.8 million cubic foot per day. We also kicked off our drilling program targeting the Haynesville and Middle Bossier shales in Shelby and San Augustine counties in 2009 with very good results.

After our first horizontal well production tested at 7.2 million cubic feet per day in the first quarter of 2009, we have drilled four additional wells in the Haynesville Shale, which production tested 13.4, 16.7, and 21.0 million a day, and 18.1 million per day respectively. Additionally, we completed our first well in the Middle Bossier formation, which production tested at 11.3 million cubic feet per day.

We are currently completing our sixth Haynesville well, the Red River 620 1-H, and drilling two additional Haynesville wells in the area, the Red River 619 Number 2 1-H and the Owens Number 1, both of which will be completed sometime in the second quarter. In total, we have approximately 42,300 net acres we believe are prospective for the Haynesville and Middle Bossier shales, and our average gross working interest is approximately 61%.

In addition to the James Lime, Haynesville and Middle Bossier targets, we have placed our first Pettet oil well on production. The Acheron 2-H was placed on production in January and initial production rates of 465 barrels of oil per day plus 2.5 million cubic foot of gas. We are currently participating in two Pettet wells, which are being completed.=Cabot's wells
