Hi Les, info seems to be running in all directions, when you get a chance could you answer a few questions?
1. Is there a trend in the direction of the leasing movement?
2. Has drilling and leasing activity decreased in DeSoto and Sabine Parish?
3. Is the search on more for oil than gas?
4. Has the lease/and or royalty values gone down and should a land owner expect
a recovery in the value in the near future.
5. Do you feel that the smacker will be a game changer?
6. Is there anything to the rumor that leasing may move south and begin moving
north. Sounds weird but I keep hearing this . . .
7. Does western/Sabine Parish (Many, Negreet, Florien) have a fair chance
of being in the play. Just your educated guess!

Sorry, I only intended to ask 3 questions but . . . .
Thank you for any or all info.

Les & Skip, thank you for taking the time to answer my questions - I sometimes wonder if you both get tired of answering the same questions over and over (including my questions), and I appreciate you both very much - I am grateful for both of your post and the answers have anchored my thinking in a more realistic direction. GO MANY TIGERS & NEGREET INDIANS!

Ken, thank you for your post - it is good to have a local keeping us posted on what is going on and what the thinking is in this area! Hope Floats!
Shaleeee, where is your land?
Ken, Most of it is in T-7 (Many area) - where is yours?
I leased in 9-8-12,8-4-13,and underwater in 7-22-13. Still have interest in 7-32-13,6-5-13 and more all underwater. Hopefully it will bear fruit but if it does not I am thankful for what has happened already.
Ken, that is awesome - so proud for you - you probably could write a book of do(s) and do nots on leasing - have you dealt with different O&G companies ? Five years ago who would have ever thought something like this would happen - it is exciting and life changing for many people - I hope you treat yourself to a few things on your "bucket list" I have not made my list yet (LOL) but you can bet if I get leased I will! You underwater property is just a lease away!
So for Cheasapeake and Comstock. I think you will get leased, just hope the demand is there for the bigger bucks. Just need some more good Forest wells.
Jack Blake says thanks to Les B abd Skip!! Jack Blake very much appreciates and thinks the much of your posts. There are a few others too. Shale Geo comes to mind.
Thanks to the experts for patiently teaching Jack Blake.
Les, this well...Blackstone minereals lp26h#1, Forest oil.....5432 mmcf/Ip ...10/64 choke..7635 psi...converse field S 26/ T-8/R-14...SERIAL# 239521 was this a mediocre well or could the choke influenced this IP?
Ken, this well was restricted in flow by Forest until gas treating equipment could be installed. Forest shows this well with a 21 MMcfd test rate from the Mid-Bossier Shale when not constrained by the lack of treating capacity.
Les, well 241400 OLYMPIA in T-7-8-13... last report "11 packers in hole" What's with that?
ken, 241400 is a James Lime horizontal well with a 5648' lateral. As a packer is set after each frac stage, there were 11 frac stages completed at the time of this report. Packers are used to isolate each stage from the previous stages. When the last stage is perfed and fraced, the packers will be removed in order to flow the well. That's my take. I'll look forward to Les B.'s answer and add my own question. Why use packers instead of cement plugs?
Maybe they are trying the "PackersPlus" system on the James Lime.
