Does anyone know about this company and their intentions in Claiborne Parish? We have property in the Lisbon Field. I noticed Linn put up a new sign and cut down small pine trees that were growing near the tanks and wellhead of a gas/oil well on our property that is no longer in production. Our property is not currently leased nor is there any production in our unit. KCS is the last company to lease our property 5 yrs ago but never drilled our unit. I drove around the area and saw Linn Energy signs at just about every plugged and producing well in the Lisbon area. Also, saw several Linn trucks checking wells in the Lisbon Field. We have tried to contact Linn but you know how that goes with O&G companies. Any help would be greatly appreciated. JB

Go to sonris and search under organizations by name. You will find that Linn Operating is a Houston based company. You can get their phone number there if you want you contact them. And mailing address as well.
Or you can check out their website: www.linnenergy.com. My guess is they have acquired those properties since the website states that they typically invest in mature properties.
It should be interesting to see what they do with the Pettit lime wells. Maybe some horizontals? That could be very interesting!
Yeah, that'd be great. It's my understanding Linn has some experience with horizontals and re-entrys. I just find it odd they put up a brand new company sign by the plugged well but didn't communicate with landowners of their intentions. We have made two attempts by registered mail in the last 3 months but have yet to hear from them.
Everybody in Claiborne Parish on vacation? What's happening?

I have property in the Lisbon area but Linn does not have wells on my property.  Another producer does and I can tell you from experience that most of the Lisbon Pettit wells are being held in a so called "Unit."

The producer can hold those dead wells in the unit until the last drop of oil is pumped in the Unit.

If your well is in one of Linn's Unit, you should be receiving a check.  You can check the well number on Sonris and see if Linn is claiming to produce that well.  Linn is redrilling some wells and putting on Reba Pumps.  These pumps are supposed to pump great amounts of fluid.  Hope this info helps.

Thanks for the info. I drove up there last week and Linn removed their sign from the well site.  Go figure.

Tuscaloosa Trend Sits On Top Of Poorest Neighbourhood For Decades - Yet No Royalties Ever Paid To The Community -- Why??

In researching the decades-old Tuscaloosa Trend and the immense wealth it has generated for many, I find it deeply troubling that this resource-rich formation runs directly beneath one of the poorest communities in North Baton Rouge—near Southern University, Louisiana—yet neither the university ( that I am aware of)  nor local residents appear to have received any compensation for the minerals extracted from their land.

This area has suffered immense environmental degradation…
