Sweet Spot For Haynesville And Middle Bossier In Texas

The northwestern part of Sabine County, Texas will prove to be one of the sweet spots for the two formations of the Haynesville and Middle Bossier. The most recent gas completions in and around this part of the county have been exceptional to date. Operators are scrambling for more acreage in this area and are staking well locations as fast as they can to develop this part of the County. Pipeline companies are now very busy installing new pipelines that will be needed to transport the vast amount of gas that will be produced from this area. Chesapeake, Southwestern, Crimson and Devon are the main companies that are very active for this area of the two great plays. This area of Texas will be very busy for a long time.

Not like JE to NOT elicit any responses... everyone out of town?
Right on JE.
Isnt this great news?
What "recent gas completions in and around this part of the county" have there been?
LOL!! That was my question, too, and the answer is... there aren't any. Chesapeake and Southwestern are drilling our first two horizontals in the Haynesville. Endeavor has drilled a vertical Wildcat but it either is not completed or is shut-in waiting on pipeline. The nearest recent completion was reported in a press release by Crimson, @ 11.5 MMcfd, and it is 7.5 miles west in San Augustine County.
Lack of completions in the county is disappointing, but considering the Endeavor vertical wildcat that signalled the go ahead on the Hall pipeline and the connected Tenaska major gathering system for all of East Texas, we do have some very positive developments. Nothing "proven", but we cannot ignore the heavy capital outlays to develop necessay infrastructure for exploration and development. In a discussion with Tenaska mgt. today, was told- "If it wasn't there, we wouldn't be putting in this pipeline! Heavy leasing in 08 at unprecedented bonus rates in northern 1/2 of Sabine Co. and recent developments indicate that the future may be bright! Was in the County clerk's office today and in last 2 months there are over 100 leases recorded in the North part of county by 9 different companies. As I've said before, I'm the eternal optomist, but I think you cannot ignore the positives happening now.
Maybe J.E. will be vindicated by this time next year. I do agree that the Hall well started the ball rolling and I am happy to see all the pipeline activity. There will be no wells if there is no way to move the gas. And I do get a kick out of the sometimes "over the top" claims that come from J.E. They are always entertaining.
I wonder why they do not think the north east will be as good?
I wonder also Ken. The Eastern edge of Sabine county is only 15 miles or so from San Augustine. Hard to imagine there is such a huge difference in that span, but I guess anything is possible.
I may have missed something. Who is saying the north east part of the county isn't as good?
The post from Jurassic just stated that the NW part of Sabine would be a sweet spot. This sort of implies that NE is not so sweet I guess. We just need some completions. I have a feeling information will be held pretty tight until more leasing gets done in the north part.
If you go back and look at all of the leases filed in 2008 and early 2009, a large portion were in NE region above Hwy 21 so I wouldn't be too concerned with what J.E. says.

The Lithium Connection to Shale Drilling

Shale drilling and lithium extraction are seemingly distinct activities, but there is a growing connection between the two as the world moves towards cleaner energy solutions. While shale drilling primarily targets…
