Cap & Trade: Benefit To Natural Gas In Transition Away From Coal?
Listening to Pres. Obama tonight made me think about the proposed cap and trade program and its potential effect on the market for natural gas. Would it benefit gas while utilities get away from coal because gas produces half the CO2 of coal? If it does then would it be temporary because of the increased demand driving the price higher. Any thoughts or opinions?

Obama wants to develop "clean burning Coal" but he hasn't said or done anything that encourages me that his policies will help develop our natural gas resources in a positive manner.
If anyone has evidence of it please let me know.

ALongview, basically any federal policy that either limits or taxes CO2 (greenhouse gas) emissions would be beneficial to natural gas. Now the challenge is getting it by the senators and representatives from the states that either produce coal or have a lot of coal-fired power generation.
