Ward Churchill, now there's a guy that was greatly misunderstood. Nobody could sneer at counter argument better than he. Us little Eichmans were chastened.
that's right, throw the red herring and then go hide.......
And GD, don't forget the CCC. that one put thousands upon thousands of young men and boys from starving families to work. They cut roads, worked in the National parks and learned discipline and a work ethic.
FDR was no saint. We haven't had a president that has acquired sainthood yet and I think I can safely say, we never will have one. FDR also had a pretty good woman standing beside him. FDR didn't cause the depression, he inherited it.
Naaahhh, GD
You don't have to work for it, the secret is out. They'll give it to you. Let me give you a little history. Back in the great depression, people had pride and didn't want hand outs, they took help from the government with great reluctance, they didn't try to live off the system, they just used it as long as they needed to and repayed it back. Please don't confuse people today who live off the system with those great people.
Well said GoshDarn..

We need to stick it to those whineybrats that don't use their hands to make a living like the workingman does. Businessmen are evil and need to be punished. They steal your money cause they are so sneeky. They probably learned how to do it in college and graduate school where they spent those long hours in deferred gratification so that they could learn how to put it over on the workingman. Forget that these people pay effectively ALL of the income tax that comes into the treasury now.
From NRO:Obama Taketh Away
By the Editors

Perhaps there is nothing in President Obama’s budget that better illustrates his priorities than his proposal to cap deductions on money donated to charity. “Don’t worry about giving,” this proposal seems to say. “That’s what the government is for.”

Taking, too. Obama’s budget increases taxes by $1.3 trillion. On the giving side, it increases discretionary spending by 12 percent and makes a $634 billion down payment on a national health-care system. Obama leaves the details of the system to Democrats in Congress, but he is specific about how to pay for it. He proposes to fund it in part by capping the value of itemized deductions for taxpayers in the top income-tax bracket, while simultaneously raising their tax rates. The message is clear: Turn more of your money over to us, and we’ll give it away for you.

To the producers in our society: We're screwed. Perhaps we should all just shrug and go fishin'.
That's what I do Jay.
By the way the White bass are running down on the Sabine.
You're the smart one Al. The rest of us ought to hang it up too. We can let the Bamster and his minions re-create the country.

Hey Al, have you ever heard of the government creating wealth?
They don't 'create' it but Obama is certianly going to redistribute it by giving it to liberal groups like ACRN to run their little scams during the 2010 and 2012 elections.

Heard yesterday that the big tax cut on middle clas families he was touting so much as a releif for all our problems is going to amount to a whopping $800 over a year.

Problem is all the other cost will escalate to pay for the rest of it so the net effect will put us way into the hole, individually.

What has he done for mineral owners? Where is a tax break for bonus payments? Where is support for natural gas as a transportation fuel? What about removing the section 179 exclusion on owners of royalty producing properties?

Obama is NOT a friend of the mineral owner or Royalty owner.
intrepid,
The tax brackets aren't going to change from what I understand. So your gonna end up paying taxes on your whopping tax cut. We need to get Kathy, the tax expert to explain it more for us.
No Sir, but their sure gonna try.
Which brings me to beg the question ... which will Obama & Co. be ... the man who challenges a corrupt system, or another "fat cat?' The proposed excise tax on oil & gas kicks in in 2011. On the one hand, some say this will create an "undue burden." Conversely, it's also said that this is an effort to close a loop-hole created to give O&G royalty relief ... royalties from Gulf of Mexico leases ... loopholes that could "shortchange" the tax coffers and thus "shortchange" the tax payers, the citizens... yet again.

Which is propaganda, and wihich is truth? Which label fits ... "fatcat" or "hero?"
