Does any know if this well is being drilled now? I was told that drilling would start the end of January 2009.

King John,

That would be great if you could find out. They completed the #9 well a couple of months ago. I was told that it was a barn burner, but from the Jan production numbers they must have it shut it off or not have it full production yet. Could you tell me about when the RRC post the production data on their web site each month.

Jack
I do not know which company you are with; however, I am with Hunt(XTO) and the unit I am in was (I think) finished in October and I have not yet received a royality and so far find out anything about it--good luck.

Jack--where is the #9 well. The one that I am in is Buckner/Smith-Neville area. Do you know anything about that one?

It is in the Oliver unit. Ransom Wheeler survey
i have followed the east texas drilling report for sometime and can say these two things about it,
1) the permits that they report on are just that. permits and nonthing more. there is no connection between permit issueance and spud date.
2)the intial production data they report is two to three months old.
jack, you had asked if i knew when t.r.c. updates production data and i do not. it would seem the tyler morning telegraph is quicker to report than the state.

In researching the decades-old Tuscaloosa Trend and the immense wealth it has generated for many, I find it deeply troubling that this resource-rich formation runs directly beneath one of the poorest communities in North Baton Rouge—near Southern University, Louisiana—yet neither the university ( that I am aware of)  nor local residents appear to have received any compensation for the minerals extracted from their land.

This area has suffered immense environmental degradation…
