A well owner in Nacogdoches contacted EOG to find out why the well had been turned down and why their numbers don't "jive" with his (he has been tracking output since day 1), and a funny thing happened. Now the meter has been fixed so he can't read it anymore. We have been advised to get an attorney. We think they aren't reporting the numbers to us correctly. Any advice or suggestions?

information regarding production may be obtained by contacting the RRC of Texas Office of Public Assistance, by law the operator must report correct production to the RRC. If your friend are mineral owners in the unit tell them to call EOG royalty relation department. You will need your payee number, unit and wells names of interest. They are required to info you of all info about production and about all the itemized deductions, etc. You do not need lawyer at this time without talking or writting to EOG 1st. If EOG is audited and doesnot report correctly to RRC they are in BIG TROUBLE with the RRC of Texas. Nothing wrong with them coding meter so no one can read it. Anytime meter is reset it starts at zero again on total accumulation from date of reset. Your have EOG phone number I gave you from your other posted note
Don't know if this is the correct place, but we have received a lease form from EOG with the right of first refusal to a top lease during the primary term of the lease. Any thoughts as to whether on not to accept that condition?
you can request or your friend in a certified letter to EOG and by law they must provide everything requested and back up documentation for all sales, volumes, price paid, lease use..EVERYTHING (use Texas Natural Resource Code and quote it)
Kathy,
If the well is in production the operator must accurately report all production to the Texas Railroad Commission.

The TRRC is charged with the responsibility of verifying all oil and gas produced in Texas as that determines what severance taxes are due the State. Don't believe for a second that the Commission doesn't take that responsibility very seriously and can issue an order curtailing all future production if there is any cheating by an operator.

If you have any suspicion that EOG or for that matter, ANY oil and gas producer is fleecing the State of Texas as well as yourself, get in immediate contact with the District 6 office in Kilgore and ask them to investigate your complaint. Good luck. Let us all know what you find out.
