Seitel Data has begun seeking permits for a 210 square mile 3D seismic survey that will include tracts in Anderson, Freestone, and Leon Counties. They’ve set up a website that provides information about the process:
My assumption is that the client is Expand. The schedule indicates that the survey will not be completed until November 2026. Now that Expand has finished drilling their first Western Haynesville well in Houston County, what will they do next?

In addition to Expand (CHK), Mitsui and Comstock may be partially underwriting this 3D project.
I estimate $50 to $60,000 per square mile to do this project from permitting thru acquisition and processing.
At least one abstract leased by Mitsui is on this map.
Anyone who has surface rights within this 3D outline needs to be careful about signing any permit paperwork that does not include language related to damages and "non access" areas on any property.
This will be shot hole and dynamite energy source for most of the 3D - this can be very invasive.
