I am not working on that crew but what I understand the prospect includes the Town of Mamou and some stuff to the North.

thanks for responding to me, much-appreciated.
i'd welcome the opportunity to send you a copy of the letter offer we received, toward picking your brain a bit, including any suggestion you might be able to provide re somebody (e.g., oil and gas lawyer) who might be able to assist our family in working through this.
assuming you're open to that, send me a quick e-mail (at dctalbott@eastmansmith.com), and i'll send you what i have.
and again, thanks for your assistance here.

Thanks for the note. Until recently we thought that our only interest in Shelby was in Emily Irish, which touches the SE corner of Richards. As I mentioned earlier, we were advised we also had a small interest in the Richards/Gainer and gave Devon a 2yr lease w/no kicker. Most of my family's holdings are in Panola, but in the past also included Shelby as they were from the Timpson area. My understanding is that they sold all their interest in Shelby many years ago, keeping Panola as it was more promising, but apparently a few small tracts were missed. Over the years we have had little or no interest from anyone about these tracts in Shelby, other than the Emily Irish piece being leased by Burke for next to nothing some time ago, and it (lease) expires next month. Hope this is of some help and of course we would all like to see some activity in that "forgotten" corner of the County.
Best Regards,
John Cooke
