Maggie,

I spoke to V. M., and he is open to you contacting him for some organizational ideas and conversations. He is in the book, but if you need his phone #, let me know.

Thanks for the reply. I have left a message for you at the number you gave me. Our lots are in the 500 block of Joannes. I have talked to the one of the owners of property next to ours and they are interested in getting together. I have phone numbers for others but I haven't had time to call yet.

I noticed in one of your posts you have property in N. Bossier along the River. My family has equivalent of 3 lots in Hunter Subdivision (area around Bossier Elementary). Are you close to this or further out of town toward Benton?

Snake Stewart in the Webster parish group has vast knowledge on the subject. At this point I would advise that you keep your mineral rights if you must sell the land, the mineral rights are extremely valuable. I have a very small plot of land, less than 5 acres that I do not own but retained the mineral rights when I sold it, is in Bossier Parish near Lake Bistineau. the lease brings in royalties of over 3,000 a month. I was smart enough to get consultation from some one who knew the ropes and was able to get 25% royalties back then. I do know we are drawing from barnett and cotton valley formations and am looking forward to drawing from the haynesville as well (hopefully) If your land is on the Haynesville shale you can get more in sign on bonus per acre than you may even owe on it , if it is mortgaged.

It was not an offer to buy land, but an offer to buy my mineral lease, which I have had for years. My lease is with J-W Operating in Dallas Tx. various different companies have tried to buy them out over the last 10 years. I think the latest offer was from Permian Basin Acquisition Fund for 98 times the average monthly payment I received from the last 6 months. If I sold my rights it would be for a lump sum and I would no longer be eligible to draw royalties. I know my royalties are worth much more than they were offering, so I declined the offer.
