Shale drilling and lithium extraction are seemingly distinct activities, but there is a growing connection between the two as the world moves towards cleaner energy solutions. While shale drilling primarily targets…

AboutAs exciting as this is, we know that we have a responsibility to do this thing correctly. After all, we want the farm to remain a place where the family can gather for another 80 years and beyond. This site was born out of these desires. Before we started this site, googling "shale' brought up little information. Certainly nothing that was useful as we negotiated a lease. Read More |

My wife and I have lived in Bossier City for 52 years but visited often when my mother was living. Don't go as often now but always good to meet anyone from down there! I did not notice the friends option until yesterday. Sorry for not contacting you earlier. Guess we need a class in operating this computer.
Hope to visit with you sometime.
When you can post your pics, it's been great to see the well finally. Thanks for always keeping me posted about the area. I can't tell you how much I appreciate that.
Talk to you soon,

I don't know all I need to know at this time about the oil company activities. I am wondering... I hear the companies will set up the wells close to a section line and do horizontal drilling on that section as well as on the next section, therefore sucking out the oil from the adjoining section with no royalties paid to those landowners. Is there a way to protect ourselves from this type of drilling at the time of signing our lease. Just wondering...
From previous water well drilling on the property the lignite is 650 feet from the top of the ground. The water wells are 850 feet deep. There are 2 wells involved on my 14 acres and my brother's 10 acres which adjoin each other. Both were set out with superior pines in 2005. My brother and I will lease our land but it will be at a fair price and will not be donated to the oil or gas companies. We are well aware of the amount people are being paid for leases and $400.00 will not be enough! I'd rather watch my pine trees grow!
I would be glad to be a part of a Bienville group to meet and discuss the options.
I don't have any section #, but I can tell you what I know. Around the cross roads of Hwy 126 and 505 toward Winnfield and toward Dodson up to the Big pipe line west of Dodson. I spoke to a man yesterday just down the road from the well that was drilled by the big pipe line, and he told me that the land man has not made it that far east, he lives just east of the big pipe line on Hwy 126. The well is just west of the pipe line.
have you found out any further info on this well...my land is in the 12-6 area of goldonna la

I think it is a great idea for landowners to get together and try to get a better lease or at least post their offers so that we can all make a more informed decision.
Offers are very generous here in the Bossier/Caddo area where I live however some have signed for much less because they just did not know what was out there at the time they signed their lease.
