land owners are being contacted by encana of plans to drill a well off jim island road near the red river natchitoches parish line. The well will be on Bierden property. If this hapens it will be the second in natchitoches parish.

After a little research, I think it is 26-11-10.
i was not sure of the section i dont have a a section map of red river but i have family who will be in the well. they are already drilling two in that area one on the crow place and one at the intersection of hwy 174 and hwy 1 lake end.
A satellite image reveals old pads (2) on the Bierden property. Will this be in addition to those or will this new drilling activity be on the old pads ??
it is my understanding new pads just west of bayou pierre.

In researching the decades-old Tuscaloosa Trend and the immense wealth it has generated for many, I find it deeply troubling that this resource-rich formation runs directly beneath one of the poorest communities in North Baton Rouge—near Southern University, Louisiana—yet neither the university ( that I am aware of)  nor local residents appear to have received any compensation for the minerals extracted from their land.
