"Plugback" refers to each completion attempt uphole in a well after an initial completion attempt is made. A plugback is attempted "back" up the hole in a shallower formation (whereas a recompletion attempt deeper than a previous completion(s) is often called a "downhole completion"). A plugback may successfully produce, or not.
Good explanation.
Smith, can you post the specific phrase or well serial number?
this well reached total depth TD 9-16-09 and then PLUGBACK 10/30/2009 DRILLING @ 14,651'; QUINN PINE 34H; field: RED RIVER-BULL BAYOU..Looks like the "plug backed" the Horizontal length...not much info shown. open for additional comments

does it seem possible that well has been completed for almost a year and no payments, etc. on 239994? can i call someone and question? thanks for everyone's help
smith1,
There was a discussion a while back on why Chesapeake has not reported completions on all the wells in 13N-13W. No one really knew, but many thought is was lack of a pipeline. Since that time, Chesapeake has begun reporting completions in that area (and they are good!). Maybe you'll get a report soon.

Incidentally, Chesapeake has recently reported some good completions near you -- in Secs 5, 7, 8, and 9 of 12N-12W.
OK, now this is what shows on Sonris:
06/23/2010 09 16885 SET 5 1/2 TO 15,075' W/ 500 SX

Anyone know what this means?
Thanks.
Smith, it means the rig set the 5 & 1/2 inch production casing to 15,075 ft measured depth with 500 sacks of concrete.
can anyone give me any info on this well #239994, Desoto Parish
is it normal (I guess it's hard to define normal) for well #239994 to go this long with no payment? Just wondering.
