The majority of minerals in DeSoto have been forced pooled. Much of it a long time ago. Every compulsory drilling unit approved by the Louisiana Office of Conservation has a forced pool provision.

What exactly are you asking about? Please expand and explain.
V.P.,
As Skip said, "forced pooling" is done any time a drilling unit is created. In the case of the Haynesville Shale, most drilling units are formed along section lines. So all the minerals in a given section, whether leased or unleased, are forced into the pool that forms the drilling unit. The mineral owner has no choice as to whether or not to be pooled. The mineral owner does have a choice as to whether or not to sign a lease. Either way, the minerals will be force pooled.

If you are unleased, and plan to stay that way, you ought to read the many, many discussions on this site about going unleased, aka, being an Unleased Mineral Interest (UMI). These will shed light on what you must do (e.g., notify the driller, how, when, etc.), and the laws governing this process.
