Over many years the M. L. Bath company of Shreveport sold standard oil and gas lease forms for numerous states.  There are a number of variations of Bath leases and the Producers 88, in several versions, is one.  In small print across the top left on page one will be a designation denoting that particular form.  As an example one in my files reads,

Bath's Form Louisiana    EC. 14-BR1-2A-PX  4-78

As the alpha numeric form number indicates, there are many different versions.  You will be better off posting the exact wording from the lease that you wish to ask about.

Your question is a little broad. The Producers 88 was developed essentially for states other than LA. There are versions for Texas, MS, AR, etc. They tend to be state or states specific. They are tailored to state laws in the states where they are used. For example you could not or should not use a TX Producers 88 in AR, because Arkansas has a different marital regime than TX, Texas has comunity/separate property, Arkansas haw dower and curtesy. M. L. Bath developed frorms for North and South LA. There are delay rental froms, paid-up forms, etc. There are differences between North and South LA as to how units are formed: sectional in North, Geologic in the South. There are differences with the different North LA forms as well. Some are more producer friendly, some are more landowner friendly.
