Skip, I have a question about the Lazard well S1 11n 12w. We Are in this unit it shows as Shut In, although it was never in production, so should we be receiving shut in fees since that was the lease agreement, and if not can they hold the lease if they are not paying shut in fees? I know that if it had been in production then shut in ;they would owe us shut in fees. Our lease is with Petrohawk.

Tracy, what is the term in years of the lease and what date was it effective?

The term is 2 years and Dec 20 ,2012 the date it came into effect I believe. Thx Skip!

Tracy, the original lease may have contained an option for BHP to extend the lease for 2 years or the lessor may have granted an extension for 2 years.  Either way the primary term of the lease does not expire until Dec. 20, 2014.

BHP permitted this well 3/8/13, spud the well 4/23/12 drilled and set surface casing and then pulled the rig off.  Since 5/30/12 the well has been Waiting On Another Rig.  It was reported again as such Nov. 2012.  The well is now a Status Code 31 (Shut In Dry Hole - Future Utility).  BHP may reenter the well and drill it as long as they do so by Dec. 20, 2014.  After that date the lease rights expire.

Thx so much for the info!!!
