Howdy,
I'm looking for a map that shows exactly where my family's mineral rights lease is located.
All I got so far is the survey location, called Chandler-Johnson A-19.
I've read it's somewhere South of Lufkin, TX.
Does anyone know how to find that location on GPS or a Google Maps if I drive there?
Much Appreciated,
Lance

Target depth is fast approaching!
Rig seems to have moved off location for the Bigfoot #1, as of 1/9/2015, but I don't know what the status of the well is.
That makes me think that target depth was reached!
Is moving a rig off the site of the well part of an ongoing process that happens in natural gas extraction?
Yes, from my limited knowledge about this I think they usually bring in a smaller rig to be used in the fracking process. Of course, the rig would also move off site for a dry hole, but let's hope this isn't the case.
There is no drilling rig used in a frac operation. Here's a link that shows a well being fracked.

Thanks Skip.
That's great to learn about.
With the capability to go out from the main drilling well to over two miles in most directions, I certainly hope they found some good shale layers to frack.
How/when do we find out the status of the well?
Thank you for the process info Mike.
In our case, BBX made sure the heirs to the mineral rights acreage had our title documentation in place before they would begin drilling.
We were also informed by BBX that their policy is to pay out royalties within three months from the time the natural gas is sold,
I hadn't seen any updates so I called a landman we signed the contract with yesterday. He said he had heard last week that there was some sort of problem with the rig. I said I had heard it was moved. Since he isn't one of the people on site, he could not offer any more information. That's of course a little frustrating to hear. Hopefully someone here can get more details on what the problem is and when they will resume the project.
Shale drilling and lithium extraction are seemingly distinct activities, but there is a growing connection between the two as the world moves towards cleaner energy solutions. While shale drilling primarily targets…

AboutAs exciting as this is, we know that we have a responsibility to do this thing correctly. After all, we want the farm to remain a place where the family can gather for another 80 years and beyond. This site was born out of these desires. Before we started this site, googling "shale' brought up little information. Certainly nothing that was useful as we negotiated a lease. Read More |
