Skip!  When do you think this rig will be moved to 252199 Crowell LM in Rapides?  My understanding is Southwind and Primerock are sharing in the lease of this rig.

Lisa, remind me and I will check the weekly rig report again next Friday.  The rig should be quite near TD (Total Depth) now.  The rig will still have to set the final casing string before moving to the next well site.  It shouldn't be too long now.

Thanks Jay and Skip for the info from your reports, we really appreciate you guys keeping us informed. HC

I ditto that!

Anyone hear about the flow back of 1st Crowell yet?

Think Flowback started Jan 22,  prob be March before see any numbers, from what I was told.

Sorry should have been SN 252119.

A lot of consistent rumors floating around about it being a very good well.

Well that is good new!  At least they have permitted SN 252119 that is supposed to spud on 2/5/20 with rig Ensign 777 from 251932.  And that tends to help with rumor believability.

As I understand it, the science seems to imply that there's a lot of oil in the AC (in general terms per certain locations). But the big problem has always been getting the oil out of the ground in a sustainable fashion. In the past, a number of AC wells have had impressive initial flow rates, only to eventually clog up (sand/chalk in?) and thus make an unprofitable well. It seems the "perfect" completion formula has been illusive in keeping the chalk formation open and producing at paying quantities. Maybe the drilling pros will be able to offer a better assessment.

Impressive is almost an understatement. Some of the old dual lateral wells IP'd at 10,000 barrels of fluid per day! That of course indicates that there is no lack of permeability. It makes me think that the frac approach is probably misguided since permeability is not the issue. I am not sure of the reason for the less than stellar ultimate recoveries but I would guess that it is a result of low porosity. Most of the wells for which I've been able to get detailed data have extremely low intergranular porosity, i. e. all of the porosity is within the natural fractures which will also be very low. That was part of the problem with the TMS...just not enough pore volume to hold very much fluid.

It's been my experience that a good reservoir will always overcome a bad completion!

There was an entry on this well 02/03/20:  ND bops; release rig 1/29/20. Final report. Waiting on completion rig

The Lithium Connection to Shale Drilling

Shale drilling and lithium extraction are seemingly distinct activities, but there is a growing connection between the two as the world moves towards cleaner energy solutions. While shale drilling primarily targets…
