I heard that there was to be a meeting in Mansfield this week. If so what was the outcome? Anyone heard anything?

I made a mistake. It is Randy Pearson and Fred Binning, not Sonny Hall, that are heading up the group.
Thanks Veronica. I'm pretty sure we would be interested in joining up with ya'll. Please let me know when you know more.

Veronica, my husband and i are willing to join in with the neighborhood also, we live on Deer Lane and is looking forward to the outcome, remember to post whenever you know of a meeting......Tina
Let me know if you need a form. Randy Pearson went around to several houses this morning. I made copies just in case I ran into someone else who wants to join the group. It is just info. for the lawyer - Name, address, contact number. The lawyer has agreed to represent us for 1% of whatever bonus we agree to. Randy said that he would let everyone know as soon as they were ready to meet. Community Bank has offered to let us meet there. If you need a form, I will bring you one tomorrow. - Veronica

We are on the other side of town. We live in the Willow Glen neighborhood behind First Baptist Church. I will ask the guys that are heading up our group if you could join in with us. Some of the things that I have read say that each neighborhood will have to have a certain percentage of committment before proceding with drilling. I am not sure if that still applies. If not, then it shouldn't be a problem for you to join in with us even though we don't live in the same neighborhood. Even though it is the other side of town, what is it really - 4 miles? LOL I'll post as soon as I find out.

***A lady called me this morning from the Good Home Rental Center by Ivan Smith. I don't remember what she said her name was, but she worked there. She said that she lives on Saunders Street and is trying to get a group started over there. That is just across 171 from you, so you might want to check with her and see if maybe you could all go in together. Just an idea.
I totally agree with you when you say you only have till 5 o'clock. Also I have a copy of the paperwork and when I read it I knew then something did not sound right to me. Also when the lady at the meeting stood up and stated she was from Chesapeake and they asked her to leave. This just does not add up and for the people who have signed up........there is no telling what they gave away.
You folks may want to read today's Shreveport times about the Fortress Management deal in Mansfield..not pretty...
My name is Mud with some people around here because of what I said, but I was just asked my opinion and that is what I gave them. You know what they say about opinions - They are like *******, everyone has one! :) In all honesty, I really hope they get this worked out (somehow) and it all goes through. I have friends, neighbors, and family that signed with these people and I really don't want to see them taken advantaged of.

Oh yea - I was called by the Shreveport Times and interviewed because they said they check the Go Haynesville Shale website daily. They saw my name and gave me a call. We are participating in a great public forum!
Veronica, I don't think your mud. I just would like to know if anyone beside me (which signed) is still in this. I live way out on Sloan Road and have no neighbours or hood. Just one little acre. I never even thought of anyone asking me to lease. So all this seemed like a great move. We had nothing before so I suppose we will have nothing after. Any imput?
I know several people who are still waiting out the decision. I've also run into a few people this week that have gone to the Fortress Management office in Shreveport to retrieve their papers. Right now we don't know whether or not they will be able to pull this off or not. There are several people that have said that before this they had received offers of $5,000 to $10,000 an acre. They continue and say that if this does go through eventually, they will still come out better than they would have to begin with. It just depends on what you are comfortable with. Only you can make that decision. Remember that right now you are not bound to any lease with them. You only signed a letter of intent. If they get it together, you will be called when the lease is ready. You will then go over the terms of the lease with them. If there is something you don't like, tell them. If they don't want to amend it, you don't have to sign it. I am not absolutely positive, but I think there was a line on the Fortress page that said that even if you don't choose to go with the lease they find and you sign with another company, you still owe them their 4%. That may be the only part you can't completely get out of if you decide to wait it out.

Like I stated earlier, it is all about what you are comfortable with. I am in no way a pro at any of this. Both of my grandfathers worked in the oil fields, but I am an elementary school teacher. Like a lot of people I have been intrigued with all of this and have researched to find out a little bit about it. The gas companies do this every day. They know the language that they speak and what they should/should not do. We, on the other hand, don't. I think we should all learn something about this before signing on the dotted line just to protect ourselves.

If you choose not to go with them, you are welcome to join our group. We may get more, or we may get less. It's a gamble. I just want to be able to understand what is going on and not feel rushed or pressured into anything. Good luck! - Veronica
Randy Pearson started a new discussion - DeSoto Area Pool. He left the contact info. for the group there.
Not finding the thread...am I just overlooking it?
