Shale Could Rival Bakken for Oil Reserves

There are 2 horizontal wells under way that could
make a major impact on the future of oil and gas
prices in the U.S. The Eagle Ford Shale has long
been believed to be the source rock for much of
the oil & gas produced in the prolific Austin Chalk.
Two horizontal Eagle Ford wells are currently being
completed by TXCO in Maverick County, Texas.

In an August 11th analyst meeting the company’s
CEO announce that these wells and a greater
potential than the recently completed Pearsall
Shale that tested 3.8 million cubic feet per day.

The extent of the Eagle Ford play could reach from
the Mexican Border in South Texas to Northern
Louisiana and beyond.
This pay appears to be
productive and blankets in at least 4 counties of
South Texas. If this play is extended to the East
Texas Austin Chalk fields it could easily account for
billions of barrels of oil in reserves and more than
a million barrels a day in production.Petrohawk has
announced 7.2 MMCF + 250 bblsopd in La Salle
County.

Sesport, that is correct. The heavier hydrocarbon molecules in the gas condense as the gas flows to the surface due to the change in pressure and temperature. The job of the production separator is to remove this condensate from the production stream prior to the natural gas being delivered to downstream pipelines.
Electro,
I have too, but the Eagle Ford ain't gonna happen in North Louisiana.
Jay, may I ask where all the latest Eagle Ford information came from? If it was from an industry presentation, are the slides available?

Many thanks
Thanks Jay. Is it publically available? No problem if it isn't, I just couldn't find it on their website.

EOG has an apparent Eagle Ford or Pearsall Shale discovery in the Milton Well in Karnes County. This is a major step out from the Pioneer, Newfield and Murphy fairways. Af ew big independents were scooping up acreage in Wilson and Gonzales Counties for the same reason, but halted leasing last winter.

Not sure if it's actually Eagle Ford or Pearsall, but it appears to be one of the two.

Thanks again.
