I have a piece of property in Section 31, Township 17, Range 15 near Greenwood,LA that I recently had a landman call me about. Up to now, no one seemed interested in leasing the mineral rights for this property as this was the first inquiry I have had. Does anyone know what drilling activity is going on in this section and what the new going rate is for signing bonuses? I hope its not back down to $250/acre!
Thanks

Same here..land man was here Oct 1...then heard nothing more...but I don't know how to find out what section and so on...I just know that I own land and minerals for this 89 acres..
He said oh he would have it surveyed and send report to headquarters..then nothing else.

I do know that just 2 miles from me they hit and production is 9.6 mcf...and I am told that a lot.
RJ,

I looked at Sonris and the last well drilled in your section was drilled in 1972 and plugged and abandoned in 1986. There have been 9 other wells drilled prior to 1972 but none are currently producing. Also, it appears that the deepest depth drilled to date is 8,794 feet.

Maybe someone else can see something different.
Very interesting. Why was I told just 3 weeks ago that a well had been drilled in Sec. 30 17N 15W and was slated to be producing by Nov. 2. Perhaps the landman was "misinformed" or was just eager to get me to sign a lease for my property in nearby Sect.31. Sorry RJ for the misinformation, I was just relating to you what was told to me.
I know that is a good area.
RJ,

The section that I checked was Sec. 30 in 17n 15w
It is $5,000.00 acre in Desoto parrish .
Are the old oil leases from the sixties and seventies in Texas filed at the courthouse?
and this $$$ you discussing the $250 to $5000 bonus thing is that for the acreage of minerals or for the surface lease?

Abut how long should it take from time an oil company surveys your land, tells you they interested in drilling on it til they make some kind of offer?
