American Association of Petroleum Geologists July 2008 edition of Explorer

This months edition dealt with shales. Accordinging to Dick Stoneburner, I believe COO, of Petrohawk, recovery rate is being estimated at 40-50 bcf, per section in the HS. Also, an executive with Cubic Energy (not sure of title or first name) last name Sepulvado was quoted about their first 2 HS wells (Glorias Ranch #1 and Daniels 3 #1-maybe someone can help with location). He said using Schlumberger's Platnium Express and element capture spectroscope showed GR #1 at 147bcf total with 115 bcf free shale gas per section and Daniels 3 #1 at 135bcf total with 109 bcf free shale gas per section. Also in the article, the Barnett was expecting 20% recovery rate and HS at 30% recovery rate. Mentioned also that the Barnett wells start out high and taper off very quickly. The Hs starts out high and being severly chocked starts high and has shown no signs of tapering of yet. Maybe one of the other experts can add more to this.
