Received a very "official" letter (8-22-08) from a Sean Smith, Director of Constituent Services, Office of the Governor, thanking me for my letters regarding "gas prices." This letter states that I can rest assured that, "...the Governor and his entire Administration take your concerns very seriously..." Blah, blah, blah, blah. I never sent any letter that had to do with "gas prices." I sent letters per my concerns about the flurry of HS DOC permitting/drilling with (imo) a lack of efficient oversight/understanding/direction and overwhelming bias per legal/environmental/safety/mineral owner and landowner rights here in NWLa.

Letter "encourages me to contact my U.S. Senators/Reps., in order to share my concerns and ask that they lift the moratorium on offshore drilling..." (I never even mentioned anything per offshore drilling.??????

This response to me from the Governor's office, I consider a joke. It addressed zero questions that I submitted in writing to Governor Jindal.

?????? It makes me wonder just exactly how "asleep at the wheel" this group is???????

Fax: (225) 342-7099 (or)

Email: www.gov.state.la.us
Thanks once again, DrW. You need to frame that response alongside your original so you can chuckle every time you pass by it. Maybe resend a copy of the response along with a copy of your original with a big sticky note attached that just says, "HUH? Please clarify."

I know in the past SONRIS has been "offline" for maintenance. Gov. Bobby is also still broadcasting storm damage updates this weekend on LPB. Some offices are still closed, others are to be opened again gradually. We'll give it some time.
Would it be possible for you to post the contents of the letters that you sent?
I'm not following, how is emailing to the governor with a question about a publically funded website with public information the same as a political purpose?

The History of GoHaynesvilleShale.com

GoHaynesvilleShale.com (GHS) was launched in 2008 during a pivotal moment in the energy industry, when the Haynesville Shale formation—a massive natural gas reserve lying beneath parts of northwest Louisiana, east Texas, and southwest Arkansas—was beginning to attract national attention. The website was the brainchild of Keith Mauck, a landowner and entrepreneur who recognized a pressing need: landowners in the region had little access to…
