John, well permit lists this as a Smackover well. I believe there are also Haynesville Sand units in the North Lake Missionary Field.

The jury is out on this well, most likely its a sand well, not shale. They are being tight lipped about it. Etoco is the operator.
Thanks for the info. I have been contacted by an independant landman who wants to consolidate some acreage in the Wardview area. My first contact with anyone on my acreage. No offer has been made as of today.
Well that is some good news.
Thanks for the information. I just read Chesapeaks current news release where they state they will be cutting back spending for the balance of the year as well as into 2009. Worth reading. Try this link if you are interested.

John, thanks for the info.
ETOCO does look to be a very small outfit. No wonder they are not putting out in info on the well...
Good point. Where is the next well being dirlled?
Word is it is CHK!!
Wrong, Etoco is not affiliated with Chesapeake, nor do I think they are a front for Chesapeake.

They are privately held and I believe well funded and have most of their operations in Texas (not East Texas). From my dealings with them they are a stand up guys.

This was in the works before the Haynesville madness and is mostly a Cotton Valley oil play. Check the lease dates out there.

You guys getting excited, ask yourself why there has been no leasing to the north and west of that well.
Is anyone sure there is no leasing activity to the west or north, or is this purely speculative?
