Choke Rate Explanation/Discussion
I am aware that the O&Gs will have to restrict production from a well based on numerous factors, including capacity to transport the natural gas through available pipelines. However, any other color or discussion would be appreciated.

One thing that has not been mentioned here is the damage that can occur in high pressure wells that is produced when the pressure differential between the rock and the bore is greater than the strength of the rock. This typically occurs in loosely consoladated sands causing excess sand production that requires a workover at the least and possibly the loss of the well in total. By chocking the well such that the pressure drop is reduced this damage can be avoided.
