The Donner well is not a Haynesville Shale well at 7050 feet, I would say it is a James Lime well, ask Jay the Geologist.
You are correct. It looks to be a James Lime well but on the permit that was issued it shows to be in the Austin Chalk. Go figure.
Maybe it is a Austin Chalk well, the chalk can produce some good numbers. It was the deal back in the mid to later 90's. I worked it buying leases for Chesapeake back then in Rapides and Evangeline Parishes.
Chesapeake still has some good wells in Vernon that are Austin Chalk. I have land in Sabine Parish on the Vernon line and we are watching the Donner well very close. Do you have any idea why the Austin Chalk died down?
Everything went to crap in late 97, oil and gas went on a downhill slide, put me on the street, I did cell phone towers for about two years. I have no idea why the Austin Chalk hasn't come back into play. Guess they want 8 million and above in production and maybe the chalk can't do that.
Have heard and confirmed recent offers of 16,900 and 12,500 4 miles west of Converse.
Well, since it's coming from you it must be so!
that's great
That's more like it!
Not sure if it was just a rumor, but i heard the oil and gas guys were in florien this past weekend leasing up land.does ayone know? some are sayin they are giving offers of 400,000.seems alitte much to me,so i figured i would ask the people who are keeping up with all of it.i live on peason rd,out in plainview just wondering if they are getting close to here.
I'm supposed to close with Chesapeake this week - $12,500/per. A few miles south of Pleasant Hill - Spring Rigde area.
