Question about Haynesville Shale in extreme southern part of Arkansas

If your're in Arkansas (practically on the Louisiana line - south of Bradley)and received a letter asking for a lease, is it possible that this could be a new extention of the Haynesville Shale play?

Hi folks - sorry to reply to something so far up the list - but I thought it would be of interest to you guys. Look at this thread: http://www.gohaynesvilleshale.com/group/NorthCaddo/forum/topic/show...

I added a link to a 3-year old article: http://dnr.louisiana.gov/sec/execdiv/techasmt/newsletters/2001_2005...

A lot of the discussion centers on where the shale stops and the sand starts. However, even if the shale stops well south of the Ark/LA line, don't lose hope. If you read the second link, the sand formation has been just as productive as the shale formation in North Central Louisiana. The Clement's Heirs well was drilled just south of the Ark/LA line - due east of Ida, LA and early indications are that it will be quite productive! We don't yet know if it is in the shale or sand formation.

Let's all keep our fingers crossed :)
But probably not likely
Lot of action not to be anything of importance wouldn't you say. As long as the fringe area keeps moving , I wouldn't sign anything in Florida until I knew for sure !
I think it is! I think it is! I think it is!

Be positive.
Absolutely , As I have said from day one , Prove it with the drill bit !
I'd ask Jay it but this whole area was a shallow sea back when the Haynesville Shale was laid down. I've read on this site somewhere that the low areas, the deeper zones of the pool, are the places the shale is deepest. La. wasn't there, Ark. wasn't there, but just like sediment collects in a bream bed stuff collected in the pools. The whole of Dixie is likely shale. It even made its way up to Pennsylvania. Its just called Marcellus up there. Exactly like Bull Run and Manassas, just different.
