Which company has the best production results? Which company is the most reputable to deal with?
If the terms are the same with Anadarko and GeoSouthern, who would you rather drill your well?
No offer from BHP but they have the most wells in the area. Would it be worth waiting for them? Or would it be worth waiting for the market to improve?
Thanks for any recommendations that you can share.

I was pleased with Encana.
I would not hesitate to guess that there are any E & P's making money in the Haynesville. With Nat Gas prices of $2.27 in the dead of winter - that translates to 5 - 6 BCF break- even cost. The equation only works in a handful of areas.
Cessation of production across the country for 6 months & a 1 year moratorium on drilling new wells would cure all of the commodity price woes. Stock holders and bankers would need a thorough explanation - tourniquets would have to be applied - but with the current situation - no one is making any $ from Nat Gas.
Jay do you think Geo Southern would be interested in leasing small parcels in Desoto? If so do you have contact info
They are all great operators, first I’ve heard of Anadarko buying. Agree with Jay, BHP doesn’t have a rig and who knows if they ever will. Geosouthern should be ok figuring it out, but I believe most of their experience is in the eagleford which is a totally diff rock. They just acquired a monster, 250+ units b/t them & Vine is not a small project. Surprised they still want more! So only prob is you may be low priority. Of the 3, Anadarko is the only one that’s currently got an active rig running in the Hayesville. Just checked on Sonris they seem to be fully developing each of the unit. They have a lot of experience in the ETX Hayesville, believe they drilled 150+ wells over there. These wells look great, http://sonlite.dnr.state.la.us/sundown/cart_prod/cart_con_wellinfo2... Good luck.

AboutAs exciting as this is, we know that we have a responsibility to do this thing correctly. After all, we want the farm to remain a place where the family can gather for another 80 years and beyond. This site was born out of these desires. Before we started this site, googling "shale' brought up little information. Certainly nothing that was useful as we negotiated a lease. Read More |
