I'm hearing the Encana's Ash 1 & 2 wells are projected to produce approx 3100 brls/day and they are pulling off 2900 total acres.  Anyone have an update on this or progress being made?

2900 total acres

I thought it was 1900 acres. The 3100 sounds great if true.

Can't tell you how big that unit is but even 1900 acres is abnormally large. The 2 wellheads are only about 40 to 50 feet apart so they can't possibly be draining much acreage at all regardless of their lateral length. The big news is the amount of proppant they supposedly will use per stage - 1 million pounds.
Encana's well spacing so far is only 150 acres. 2900 acres would take about 20 wells not 2.

I believe it is 1900 acres

.

Thanks for the info.  I have gotten confirmation from several sources-it is 1900 acres.  The horizontal drilling is the reason for bringing the 1900 acres into play.

It's 1951 acres according to the MS Oil and Gas Board.
The original post stated " they are pulling off 2900 total acres." My point was the 2 wells aren't pulling off the entire unit regardless of the size of the unit. A unit of of that size would require many wells to pull the oil off it.

Pville,

The large amount of acreage in the unit is a way the company can HBP lease acreage. Hopefully, they will drill more wells in the unit when they get around to it.

Yes I believe up to 8 or 10 wells per unit.

Encana has been figuring 150 acre spacing so far. EOG announced they would try 65 to 90 and maybe as small as 40 acre in the Eagleford. The well spacing may change for the TMS too as they learn more with micro seismic testing.
The unit is approximately 1951 acres.

A 1951 acres unit could potentially require  +/- 13 wells to pull out it's oil at Encana's 150 acre spacing estimate. Correct?
