This is an excerpt from the monthly state auction tract bid results available on SONRIS. For brevity and clarity, I have deleted the bids for areas other than the HA/BO shale play and highlighted the bonus bid amounts.

Considering that QEP has a HA well drilling in S33 - 16N - 9W maybe we should have made a bid. LOL! I find it curious that the section received no bid. And when is the last time that a lease tract anywhere in DeSoto Parish was taken for a winning bid of $1500/acre? Even if it is a Samson Contour AOI.

As the Town of Ringgold nominated Tract #41589 and #41590, they may have been seeking a lease with better terms than QEP was offering but that is strictly conjecture on my part. I think it likely that the town will enter a lease with QEP before the well is turned to sales.
