Blackrock Inc. Funds increase shares in Chesapeake Energy to 4.8% @ 10/2011

"...Blackrock, the world's largest and most prominent asset manager, with $3.7 Trillion in assets under management, filed Form SC13G/A with the SEC on Friday, indicating that its Blackrock Inc. funds holds 31.7 million shares or 4.8% of the (CHK) outstanding shares."

"This is an increase from the 7.4 million shares owned by Blackrock, Inc., as indicated in their last 13-F filing for the period ending June 2011..."

In researching the decades-old Tuscaloosa Trend and the immense wealth it has generated for many, I find it deeply troubling that this resource-rich formation runs directly beneath one of the poorest communities in North Baton Rouge—near Southern University, Louisiana—yet neither the university ( that I am aware of)  nor local residents appear to have received any compensation for the minerals extracted from their land.
