Thanks to Joe Lovelace for bringing this to the members' attention.  Much of the brine leases in south Arkansas were taken years ago when the demand and value of the by products was considerably less than currently.  Although there are other by products of worth, Lithium is the focus of efforts to increase brine extraction.  Help get the word out and provide some details to help members get up to speed.

Cass County Brine Lease Update.

East Texas Natural Resources Operating (ETNR) has taken Brine Leases in the northwest corner of Cass County near Bryans Mill and Marietta.

On August 9th ETNR filed an Application for a Permit to Drill a 40 acre Wildcat well in the George Morris Svy A-679.

Permit Application and Well Location Plat are attached.

It may be this is a well to test for lithium content in the zones penetrated.

If I'm not mistaken, ETNR is a Schlumberger-related entity. ETNR was just formed in May 2023.

Looks like this location is being drilled just NE of a 2012 Smackover dry hole drilled by Hensley & Associates.

Completion report (well not tested) and permit attached.

Note that Schlumberger ran the logs on this well.

Some decent lithium concentrations around Bryans Mill area as per original analyses. But one has to avoid areas there where water injection was used to maintain Smackover reservoir pressure- odds are high this injected water diluted original mineral concentrations.

Millions of barrels of injected water in this field area.
