Leatrice,

 

Your topic has already been discussed in the DeSoto Parish Group.  It appears there is a problem with the pipeline/ gathering lines, and Chesapeake is working to fix the problem.   The shut in royalty is for a year, but it probably won't take that long.   Hopefully, they will have everything up and running before too long...

That information about the discussion group in Desoto parish from Linda is very helpful.

Are you in Desoto parish?

It is very interesting that the reason you were given for the shut-in was lack of market-seems as though there are varying reasons? But all are Camterra?

This website is wonderful because information is shared-thank you Mr. Mauck, et al!

Hoping and praying that it won't take long. But something smells mighty fishy!! Linda,

did you get a little (as in  $5.83, and did you cash.) because some people says that if you do,

then your lease could extend to 3 more years. LETS HEAR FROM ALL THAT GOT A TINY CHECK

AND WANT YOU TO" DEPOSIT AND RETURN SIGNED CONFIRMATION AT ONCE." EVERY BODY

Hi Leatrice,

 

I don't have anything in Sec l T15 R14, but my cousin does.  He received a shut in royalty payment of $4.17 for his 4.17 acres.  His lease allowed a $1.00 per acre for shut in royalty, so that's what he got.  They have to pay you for one year even if it doesn't take a year to fix the problem.  Just hang in there and the gas will be back up and running before you know it.

Leatrice, you are confusing a shut-in payment with an extension clause.  As production has been established an extension clause, if one existed, would be moot.  The payment you receive and the length that the well may be shut-in are specified in your lease.  There will be a separate "Shut-in" clause.  If you do not understand it, post it here so we can help you understand it.

Exactly. I would guess, Leatrice, that your tract is 5.83 acres and you are being paid $1 per acre for a shut in well.
