Could it be possible that you are mixing corporate responsibility with social responsibility?

Chesapeake has met their corporate responsibilities, even if they have failed in some of their social responsibilities. They have donated money to communities in which they are established (ex. safety town), but that alone does not completely satisfy their obligations to the community.

I disagree. They are two separate offerings. You have the right to perceive them as non-distinguishable, but that is only your perception. I am not here to battle with you, only to offer what I believe to be just. Therefore, you can continue in your beliefs, and I will continue in mine.

Do you believe that it is open, honest, and ethical to handle leases, LOI and negotiations in the manner that Chesapeake has of late done?

To the general public, No. But to the investors, Yes.

In that case they can leave out open, honest and ethical, and insert that they will do anything within their power to increase the bottom line.

I don't have a problem with them making money. I don't have a problem with them making LOTS of money. That is what they are in business to do.

But I believe the way they are conducting that business is unethical.

Do I think that they will gain more by their unethical business practice than by living up to their word? YES.

I believe that most people will lease, just out of fear of missing the boat. They want on THIS boat. They are affraid there won't be another boat coming along behind this one.

I also think that their competitors are winning by Chesapeake's tactics. So I don't think they will go head to head with them. I think they will quietly continue to lease where their stongest leaseholds exist.

This is just my opinion.

But Chesapeake put it in the corporate report that they were going to lower lease rates.

I guess if they are honest and open with stock holders, we can take them for their word on that one.
