Thanks Skip. So that means they aren't through with this well yet, correct?
Just starting.
They moved the rig out and set up saltwater tanks so I was trying to determine where exactly they are in the drilling process. They were drilling about a month
If you are trying to correlate reports on SONRIS with what you are seeing in person, you will be disappointed. The reports always lag far behind the real time operations. Many HA wells have been drilled to TD and the rig gone before SONRIS showed that the well was spud. How long was the rig on the pad? What was the date of the report you listed above? It is always a good idea to post the well Serial Number so others can view the full well file.
The last report was on 11/9/11 however the well only spud on 11/1/11 so that was 8 days into drilling. Thirty days is sufficient time to drill a Haynesville horizontal well to TD this far north where the MD (Measured Depth) is only around 16,000'.
I'm guessing that it still has to be frac'd?
Quite possible.
As a surface/mineral owner, you should be able/entitled to visit the location and ask questions.
Policies regarding access to drill sites depends on the operator and can vary by well. Anyone not specifically authorized to be on site should not expect to show up and gain access regardless of their interest in the well. Even access to the owners of the land where the drill site is located is usually limited for safety and insurance considerations. Anyone who wishes access within the drill site perimeter would be wise to seek advance permission.
Frac should begin mid Feb
