Does anyone know something about a company called discovery oil and gas? I wonder if its a land company, operator or speculator?? I got a leasing offer in Sabine that appears to be reasonable but wanted to get your input before making a decision. Thanks.

Do you think $300/acre, 3/16 royalty for a 3/2 year term is good? I know it sounds really bad compared to 10 years ago but I fear gas prices will stay low for decades so I rather lease and take some money since I own non-producing minerals. Thoughts?
Value depends on location and "Sabine" is not sufficiently specific. I agree with your interest in executing a lease but the devil is in the details. You need a copy of the proposed lease.

In researching the decades-old Tuscaloosa Trend and the immense wealth it has generated for many, I find it deeply troubling that this resource-rich formation runs directly beneath one of the poorest communities in North Baton Rouge—near Southern University, Louisiana—yet neither the university ( that I am aware of) nor local residents appear to have received any compensation for the minerals extracted from their land.
This area has suffered immense environmental degradation…
